[dropcaps type=”standard” color=”” background=””]PPR Installed a newly installed solar power system that will provide all of its electricity needs over the next 25 years for the Port of West Sacramento . Installed at no cost to the Port by Pacific Power Management (PPM) of Auburn, CA the 637 kilowatt system will reduce the Port’s energy costs by more than $20,000 annually. The system includes 3,536 solar panels covering 90,000 square feet on the rooftops of two rice warehouse buildings. Providing enough electricity to power 89 homes for one year, the solar system also will reduce the Port’s carbon footprint by eliminating more than 34 million pounds of carbon‐dioxide emissions over 25 years.[/dropcaps]
